What does a Food and Drink STEM Ambassador do?
An Ambassador brings different aspects of the Food and Drink sector to life by talking about everyday experiences at careers events, classroom lessons, site visits, STEM-focused events and workshops for young people, teachers and career influencers. Through this activity the Ambassador helps, young people to understand how skills and qualifications in subjects such as sciences, technology, maths, IT and technology, as well as many others, are required for a wide range of careers in Food and Drink. You already are a STEM Ambassador!!

Why do I need to sign up to the ‘formal’ STEM Ambassador programme?
By becoming a STEM Ambassador, and joining the Scottish Food and Drink Ambassador Scheme, you will have additional support and resources to help you deliver your STEM activity.
PVG (Disclosure Scotland) certification and training and advice on safeguarding.
STEM Learning Insurance while you’re delivering anything as a STEM Ambassador.
Access to a wide range of additional training and resources.
Ability to consistently capture your activity and its impact in one place.
Support to raise the profile of the work you are doing and encourage others in the sector to get involved.
Access to a wider network of other people who are passionate about the development of the industry, giving you the opportunity to share ideas, best practice, and resources.
How do you sign up
Step 1 - Register as an Ambassador at www.stem.org.uk/register
Step 2 Add the Scottish Food and Drink Ambassadors Scheme in the Skills and qualifications TAB of your profile.
Step 3 Complete the STEM Ambassador Induction.
Step 4 Complete your PVG application (though your local STEM Hub).
Step 5 Begin volunteering and/or capture the work you are already delivering.
